WELCOME SR. COLETTE MARY WHITE, OP
My name is Sr. Colette Mary White, OP, a Sinsinawa Dominican. I am happy to be at St. Domitilla teaching math and science to the 5th and 6th graders. The fifth and sixth graders have started off the year learning different aspects of life science particularly animal and plant classification and cells. The fifth graders have learned how to make a slide of an onion skin and a thin layer of a leaf lettuce. They are observing their slides using microscopes and creating a drawing of what the different cells look like.
In math, the sixth graders have begun basic algebra using variables and coefficients and have learned the order of operations. The fifth graders are learning place value into the billions and comparing and ordering numbers.
In religious education, the fifth graders are learning about family life and ways to communicate more effectively with family members. I welcome you to come and visit. Let me know.
