Thank You, Deacon Joe Sironovic
After 36 years of ordained ministry to the diaconate, Deacon Joe Siranovic has decided to retire from active ministry. Due to some health concerns and age, Joe thought it was prudent and the time was right to retire from the vigorous schedule of being a Deacon. Just like Ken Bell, Joe wishes to remain somewhat active and will continue to teach our RCIA class which starts this September. He may also help out when needed with other ministerial activities but only when absolutely needed.
Joe and his wife Dawn will be married for 52 years this August and raised two children and are proud grandparents of four grandchildren. Joe came to St. Domitilla in 2003 and has been a great asset to the parish by teaching the adult RCIA classes and volunteered to teach in our Religious Education Program; preparing couples for the Baptism of their child; Wake services and internments for the families of our deceased; and, as a field advocate for individuals seeking annulments.
Joe came to St. Domitilla from Notre Dame Parish in Chicago where he served for 8 ½ years and before that at St. Bruno parish, also in Chicago, for 18 ½ years. During his 36 years of ministry Joe has touched many people and has helped them by his welcoming demeanor and his deep faith.
We all are thankful for Joe’s service to the diaconate and especially for all he has done for St. Domitilla. Join me in thanking Joe and plan to personally give you good wishes this Sunday, May 20, 2012 in the South Hall from 8:30AM to 1:00PM. Make sure you stop by and wish Joe all the best.
